img_hlt_callus.jpgIn 2008 Oxford and Cambridge reported record levels of applications. With competition for places at an all time high, being fully informed and prepared for the application process has never been more important.

In this climate, Private Consultations run by Oxbridge Applications are an essential first step for applicants and parents considering applying to Oxbridge.

  • Is Oxbridge right for me?
  • How do I find my ideal college?
  • What could I be reading over the next few months to increase my chances of getting an offer?
  • Will taking a gap year hurt my chances of getting in?

With over 9 years' experience of supporting applicants to Oxbridge, our expert consultants are in a unique position to answer any questions relating to the admissions process, offer an overview of what life at Oxbridge is like and conduct an objective and honest assessment of whether applying there is right for an applicant.

'Yesterday totally changed my perspective on not only Oxbridge, but also the application process'
(Successful Private Consultation client, 2008)

What a consultation offers:

  • Experience. A forum to discuss university, course, and college choice with consultants who have helped over 40,000 students apply to Oxbridge
  • Advice. Detailed advice on competition for courses and colleges
  • Honesty. An assessment of subject knowledge and interview manner, as well as objective overview of whether an Oxbridge application is suitable
  • Interview skills. Challenging, subject-specific interview practice in an unfamiliar environment at an early stage
  • Confidence. Applicants leave Consultations with a clear view of the Oxbridge process and a individually tailored plan formulated to maximise their chance of success

How a consultation works:

Consultations last one hour and are conducted by our expert full-time consultants. The hour is divided into three twenty minute slots:

  • Mock interview with the applicant alone, allowing the early identification of areas to work on before the real interview in December
  • Overview of our assessment with parents alone , providing an opportunity to find out how they can help the applicant improve their chances of success
  • Discussion with applicants and parents to cover interview feedback, next steps and questions
  • Full written feedback sent as follow on to the consultation

How to book

The cost of the consultation is £220 (incl. Vat) and usually takes place in our Mayfair offices. Alternatively, if you cannot make it to our offices in Mayfair we are happy to conduct a consultation over the phone - simply call us on 020 7499 2394 to book a convenient time.
